Michel Cassius Chief Executive Officer, Bookatable
Having graduated with a Master in Communication from the CELSA Sorbonne in Paris and after a few years of journalism, Michel’s career in the Media and Tech industry started when he joined Apple where he managed the growth of Apple France in the consumer segment. With a small team, he built an eco-system for distributors, developers and publishers, leveraging a portfolio of products for Mac, including games and educational software. Apple’s market share in France was the highest after the US.
Michel left Apple in France to join EA (Electronic Arts) in the UK where he first managed the European content acquisition group. With a small team of producers and marketers, he grew the business from $2.5m to $100m in 3 years. He then launched and managed EA.com, EA’s online business and Ultima Online, one of the first Massively Multiplayer Online Games in Europe, achieving strong revenues in the UK and Germany.
Michel joined Microsoft in 2001 with the responsibility for the European Xbox publishing business, managing all relationships with games developers and publishers across Europe. After two years, thanks to a strong portfolio of exclusive games, Xbox got to the second place in the market in front of Nintendo. Having succeeded with the content group, Michel led the team that launched and managed the Xbox Live service, Microsoft’s online games business in Europe. They managed to get high attach rate (number of Xbox Live subscribers per Xbox sold) by focusing on local offers and leveraging strategic relationships with local ISPs and telecommunication companies. Michel then headed the Marketing and Platform team that launched the Xbox 360 in 18 countries.
In 2007, having been an “intrapreneur”, building new businesses within larger companies, Michel co-founded YoYo Games, publisher of Game Maker, the multi-platform development tool and platform for Indy games developers. The company was also publishing the best Indy games made with Game Maker on multiple platforms such as iPhone, iPad, Android and PSP. It then focused on improving Game Maker as a game engine and announced strategic partnerships with most game platform, including Xbox One and PS4. YoYo Games was acquired by Playtech in the first quarter of 2015.
In the last 7 years, Michel has worked as an MD/CEO and non-executive director in a few technology and games companies. He is a seed investor in tech start-ups – games and non-games; co-founder of French Connect London; a mentor at TechStars, the largest worldwide start-up accelerator.
Kevin Stillwell Chief Operating Officer
Kevin joined Bookatable as Customer Service Director in December 2012. He was responsible for the redesign and set up of our in-house multi lingual customer support centre and account relationship management across Europe. In June 2016 in addition to his role as Customer Service Director, he also has taken on responsibility for the UK business as UK Regional Director, responsible for strategically growing and managing the UK operation, responsible for Sales, Account Management and Support.
Prior to joining Bookatable, Kevin was European Customer Service Director, at Webloyalty, part of Affinion group, an online loyalty services company, He also held European Customer Service management roles at Orange, and Mood Media, where he managed the company’s service strategy following 2 mergers, setting up and managing customer relationships.
Kevin holds a degree from University of Greenwich.
Thomas Bergmann Regional Director D-A-CH
Thomas is the Regional Director at Bookatable and leads the D-A-CH marketplace. Thomas’s role involves starting and building up Munich and Vienna marketplaces and building a successful sales and account management team.
Thomas graduated from University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a degree in Sports and Business and went to further his career by doing a degree in Tourism.
Thomas spent his early years after graduation in Los Angeles where he worked as a Special Groups Co-ordinator in the sales team making his way up to becoming a Groups Sales Manager.
Thomas joined Bookatable in 2008 as a sales manager and working his way up to becoming the Regional Director for D-A-CH.
Pete Clack Director of Planning and Operations
Pete Clack is the Director of Planning and Operations at Bookatable, who joined Bookatable in 2008, making Pete one of Bookatable’s longest serving team members.
Pete graduated with a Biology degree but upon graduation completed the Young and Co.’s Brewery Management Training Scheme and quickly became a General Manager. He owned his first £million in 2000 running a city centre café-bar/hotel in Oxford.
Pete also has experience in business development and also worked as a client consultant. Pete’s first job at Bookatable was to secure distribution partnerships to drive incremental diners to restaurants. Pete was part of the launch of Bookatable’s Star Deals programme before moving into Planning and Analysis in 2001.
Pete now leads an international team responsible for Business Planning, Operations and Performance Management.
Sandip Gadhia Finance Director
Sandip joined BAT in October 2012 and was appointed Group Finance Director in April 2014. He has international experience and is responsible for financial management and governance, as well as treasury, tax, corporate finance and company secretarial.
Prior to joining BAT, Sandip held a number of different roles in the technology, media and telecoms sectors, including AIM listed, high growth VC backed and entrepreneurial companies. He has a degree from Birmingham University and qualified with KPMG.
Juliet Roberts HR Director
Juliet Roberts is HR Director of Bookatable who joined Bookatable in January 2011, having worked previously at StepStone, an online recruitment agency and Red Hat, an open-source software products company.
Juliet was part of the team responsible for the sale to Michelin in December 2015 and has since worked extensively with the integration team to bring the two companies together.
Although Juliet has a general HR background, employee engagement is a particular area of focus Juliet enjoys and she has been instrumental in implementing significant employee engagement initiatives at Bookatable over the past couple of years.
